TCGI
was formed in July 2006 to augment the existing wealth management business
of Taylor Collison by focusing on asset management on an “absolute
return” basis. Two Funds
have subsequently been launched:
The Australian
Absolute Return Fund will
invest in a broad range of Australian Equities. The Fund will invest
across a spectrum of Australian equities with a short to medium term
time horizon purely focused on capital growth through long and short
positions.
The
Australian Resources Absolute Return Fund will invest solely
in Australian resource stocks and be relatively conservative in terms
of its investment style given the volatility in the sector. Investment
selection will be managed by Taylor Collison’s team of specialist
Resource Analysts and advisors based in Adelaide and Sydney.
TWO GLOBAL FUNDS LAUNCHING SOON:
The
Global Absolute Return Fund will further
diversify risk by reducing exposure to the Australian stock market. This
Fund has the potential to deliver higher returns with less volatility
utilising a specialist manager who has nine years experience investing
in overseas equities.
The Emerging
Markets Fund of Funds will invest in developing countries through
Exchange Traded Funds (ETF’s) predominantly
in Asia, India, Russia, Latin America and Eastern Europe.
Each fund may
be leveraged and will also have the ability to hedge the underlying equities.
The Investment Philosophy and Process are outlined here.
All of the funds are to
be managed by Paul Greener and his Investment Management Team. Paul
was a European Portfolio Manager for Goldman Sachs in London for six
years managing E.A.F.E. Mutual Funds, U.K. Pension Funds and a Global
Technology Fund totalling $8bn in assets and then spent three years at
Deutsche Bank in New York advising on Global Equities. Paul joined Taylor
Collison in May 2005.
